Crisp mornings, crunchy leaves, and cozy sweaters. It’s one of my two favorite seasons! There’s just something so romantic about cooler weather and colorful foliage, so maybe that’s why I always have the desire to experience everything this new season has to offer with my favorite person in the whole world.
Fall is Josh’s favorite season of all, so he especially likes taking day trips and doing all the fun fall things with me. We try to visit the mountains every year when the leaves turn bright shades of red and orange. There’s nothing quite like a picnic overlooking a mountainside of gorgeous trees in all their colorful glory!
If you need some fall date ideas so you can enjoy the new season with your favorite person too, then you’re in the right place. I want to share with you some of my favorite fall activities that are perfect for just about every couple.

This time of year makes perfect hiking weather!
Have a picnic.
There’s nothing like eating outdoors when there’s a light crispness in the air. Bonus points if you have a picnic with a scenic view!
Take a scenic drive to see the changing leaves.
Sometimes called “leaf peeping,” setting out on an adventure to find the prettiest leaves is a great way to spend a Saturday. Here are some of the best places to find beautiful fall foliage in the US.
Pick out a pumpkin from a pumpkin patch.
Pumpkin picking might be cliché, but it’s still a fun activity no matter your age.
Carve or decorate that pumpkin.
This is the fun part! You can work together to decorate your pumpkin and display it as part of your fall decorations.
Watch a fall or Halloween movie.
How much more romantic can you get than snuggling up with a fall or Halloween movie? Here are some of our favorite Halloween movies in case you need some ideas!
Attend a fall festival.
You probably won’t have to look far to find a town nearby that has a fall festival you can attend. Be prepared for crafts, baked goods, and all things apple!
Visit a corn maze.
Corn mazes are a fun way to spend a cool afternoon together. You could also visit a haunted corn maze if you’re into that. (Not me. I’m a big baby when it comes to scary stuff!)
Stay in a cabin or B&B with a view of fall foliage.
I stand corrected. Staying in a cabin or bed & breakfast with a lovely view is about as romantic as it gets! Bring a cozy blanket so you can snuggle up together on the front porch.
Bundle up and take a hayride.
Another cliché activity, but no less fun!
Go on a camping trip.
Fall is a great time to go camping. It isn’t too hot or too cold, so it’s the perfect time to pitch a tent and enjoy some outdoor activities together.
